CHARACTER HISTORY

Cameron was the quiet one, the one who no one thought about, the one who was not noticed much. He was a genius at computers, but especially when it came to organizing flights, and vectors. His brain juggled the layouts of how and where objects were in space with a deftness that left his peers in his wake. He worked hard as a kid, and as a college student, but was never really top of his class in anything. He studied a few languages, taking more than normal, but never getting straight A's there, either. Thus, he was very surprised when SHIELD approached him, while still in school, and asked him to join their ranks as a flight technician.

At first, he thought it unlikely he could really do that, as, well, what fun would directing normal planes be? He had quietly dreamed of doing something big his entire life, and of being able to make a difference, and now he seemed to be heading to be a cog in the machine. One officer at SHIELD would not let him slide, however, and he was taken to a hanger and shown the prototype next generation helicarier.

The sight of the massive ship, the future defensive protector of the world, decided Cameron. He signed with SHIELD that day, and never looked back.

Several years later, when the Insight program was launched, he was tapped as senior flight technician, to make sure the launch went off without a hitch. The promotion was heady and it almost made him sick enough to miss the launch. But he was there, and feeling proud, when all hell broke loose.

He was in shock when Captain America made his announcement, and even more so as a gun was placed to his head. And even as not a soul said a word, not a person acted, he spoke simple words. He refused to act, knowing he was about to die. And then something happened that changed his mind, his life. Others stood up, others acted. The first being Agent Sharon Carter. He felt a surge of pride and gratitude then and even though the ships were launched anyway, he remembered that.

He took a quiet job with a temp agency, acting as a flight coordinator for local and abroad firms until they could get their own teams up and running. It both made him easily findable, and it was easy to miss a day. When a familiar face showed up, and opened their mouth to ask his help, he was on his feet before they said a word.

he went to Sokovia, acting as onboard flight tech for the revamped and reborn helicarier, and nearly died there, but he refused to let it stop him. Once more, he was saved by coworkers, and he knew he was in the right place. He belonged in SHIELD.

And he would until he died.

Or, you know, got pulled into an alternate dimension.

PERSONALITY

Cameron is the quintessential nerd and quiet worker, the computer geek who 'did good' and got a well-paying job as a launch controller in SHIELD, and feels good about himself for that. Before the Helicarrier conflict, he never really was anywhere near action, nor near attention from anyone on high. He was just an average guy who got to work with computers, math, and physics and be part of this really cool thing, in helping to secure the world.

When the conflict happened, it changed him, and his views on things, pretty drastically. He'd always cared about how people were treated, and about helping people. That was why he was at SHIELD and not at some corporate desk getting paid more for less work. But seeing and hearing things go down, being put, as it were, under the gun, really made him realize that one person could do something, one person could actually affect the world, and that made him feel like he had to be more active. More pro-active.

He kept his eyes open, his ears to the ground, made sure he said hello to Coulson and Hill along the way. And he didn't make much noise or do anything to rock the boat.

And when the quiet call went out for SHIELD people to come together to work for the reignited SHIELD, he showed up and got to work without fanfare, without calling attention to himself. Because making that difference, being that guy who could maybe, just maybe, delay the bad guys even a moment? Meant the world to him.

When the mission to Sokovia came around, he was probably not the first on the list, but he showed up, even though he had not been chosen, and once more, he went to work, quietly. He almost died, again, but his allies, his coworkers, once more had his back, and he found in their actions and support the ability to go on working. As well as pride in his work, and in what they were all doing.

He's not a loud person, nor an arrogant one, but he does believe in what he does, and in being part of something better, something greater. So he goes to work, and he works hard, and he smiles, a lot. He is loyal, and brave in his own way, though he would never call himself that. He sees himself as just another guy, a cog who works, and gets things done.

He likes helping people, and he likes seeing the results of his actions, even if it is something as small as an engine works better, a flight goes well, or a program is a little more efficient. Because that's what he does. He works, and he stands fast.

He will be quiet, but friendly to people, and will probably show up anytime there is anything to do, workwise, and quietly help out. Because that is what he likes to do.

He loved designing and working with remote control devices, also.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Cameron has the human ability to juggle spatial coordinates and objects in his mind, never misplacing or losing anything. He is good at computers, and at working on the fly, judging weights, angles, and speed ratios. This has also manifested itself in being a very good shot, and also a very good Remote control operator.
